New Vehicle Salvage Program Aims to Get Highest Polluters Off Denver RoadsOwners of high-emitting vehicles eligible for $1,000 rebate for turning in their vehicles
DENVER (July 3, 2008) – Ozone season is heating up and the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) has launched a new voluntary program to identify and salvage high-emitting vehicles in the Denver metro area. Under the program, eligible owners of high-emitting vehicles will receive a check for $1,000 and $60 in RTD passes when they turn their vehicles over to the RAQC and its partners for salvaging.
